An urgent request from the Administrator of Oyate Hope Academy:

Dear Friends of Oyate Hope Academy:

We now have a firm deadline for moving the school out of our current building. That date is Saturday, June 3.

Between now and then, we have much to do, and we could really use your prayers and support.

We have set packing dates for getting all of our materials—thousands of library books, supplies, files, crafts, food, etc.—into boxes and tubs ready for transporting to a secure and weather-proof facility. Our packing dates are:

• Saturday, February 25

• Saturday, March 25

• Saturday, April 29

• Saturday, May 27

 We are then planning to relocate everything on Saturday, June 3, to the grounds of the Re*Creation Center which will become the home for the school.

In this context, we are asking you to pray, and to consider helping us in any way that the Lord leads, regarding the following needs: 

• Helping us pack on any/all of the dates listed above

• Donating/acquiring of one large (40’) or two small (20’) shipping containers for secure and weather-proof storage of materials on the grounds of the Re*Creation Center

• Providing the services of a driver with a truck and trailer for moving everything on Saturday, June 3

• Donating/acquiring plastic storage tubs or sturdy cardboard boxes for packing

• Donating/acquiring packing tape and box labels

• Donating/acquiring two, large modular units (24’ x 64’, or similar) with bathrooms to be divided as needed, for use over the next three-to-five years as classrooms

• Installing plumbing and electricity for these modular units

• Monetary contributions specific to this effort

We will be able to use the Re*Creation Center itself for administration’s and teachers’ offices.

We are incredibly excited about what God is doing and what He will accomplish by placing us directly in such an important geographic location (between two primary housing developments) which will enable the entire mission to experience an even greater unity and impact upon the lives of so many children and families in the Oglala area.
